| Debbie and I have been full time youth pastors for the last 11 years. Most recently we served a First Assembly of God in Kelso Washington for 6 years. We always knew that at some point we would head to the mission field, but didn't know when. We sensed a green light from the Lord about 2 years ago and started down that road for approval from the World Missions Board of the Assemblies of God. We were approved April '04 and have been in itineration mode ever since.
We are going to live in Francistown, a community in the northern territory of Botswana. Botswana sits right on top of the country of South Africa. One of our main focuses is to establish extension sites of the Bible College, which is located in the southern part of the country. These outposts will provide adequate pastoral and leadership training for the churches in the entire northern region. We will also help the national church with education, prevention, and awareness with the AIDS epidemic. 4 out of 10 people in Botswana are infected with HIV/AIDS. The average life span is 34 yrs. and decreasing rapidly. The Church in Botswana needs a strong injection of Faith and hope. God has placed a burden in our hearts for this country and people. The needs are great in Botswana, but the opportunity for God to do the suppernatural is even greater!
